August 15th, 2011How to Review your Sports Car Insurance Policy
Once you have decided on a high performance vehicle insurance policy, the next thing you need to do would be to review it. Reviewing it would not just mean reading it; you need to make sure that you are able to check all the specific information carefully so that any and all mistakes can be corrected. If you do not take the time in reviewing your policy, you risk dealing with potential problems later that can result from wrong information written on your policy.
One of the most important details that you need to check would be the policy term. You need to be sure that the effect and expiration dates of the policy are correct as you would not want to end up getting into an accident a day after what has been written on the policy even if your policy is still in effect on that day. Additionally, having a policy a day too early would mean that you are paying for coverage which you do not need yet and having the expiration date a day or two days late would mean that you had a gap in your insurance coverage, which can in turn, result to a fine.
You should also check the limits and excess of the policy. The limits would be the specific limits for certain covered incidents and events and the excess would be the amount that you are willing to pay on your own before the insurance company pay for the rest in the event of an accident. These are important figures and any error should be corrected as not being able to do so could potentially result to financial setbacks that could have been avoided by double-checking.
Another detail that you need to verify would be the premium of the policy. The premium that is listed on the policy’s declarations page should be the same as the one that the insurance company provided you through a quote. If you notice that there is a difference in the premium amount that was quoted and the one that was issued, make sure to have it corrected right away.
