I have never owned a quad bike myself but was invited to join friends on a quad bike weekend at the end of last year. This also resulted in me driving a distance of 90km in the beautiful Eastern Cape on the Lesotho Border.

One of my friends is the co-owner of the Quad24 website – and has been on several quad bike weekend trips. It is perhaps these experiences that ensured that our group of 5 guys were well kitted out with good bikes and quality protective clothing.

Safety for all road users has always been the objective in the development of the Arrive Alive Website. With this in mind we have included sections of content on quad bike safety, quad bike injuries and also on quad bikes and children. This was done in an effort to create more awareness about safety amongst quad bike riders and reduce many of the horrific quad bike crashes that were reported during the past few years.

We have also decided to include information on quad bike insurance in an attempt not only to protect the physical well being of quad bikers – but also protect them from financial harm in the event of quad bike damage. The Car Insurance Blog also presents us with a nice platform to discuss this in a bit more detail and refer to actual examples of how to find quad bike insurance.

Communication and discussing quad bike insurance amongst friends

As I reflected on the content on quad bike insurance I could not help but think that we need to consider the helpful nature of the quad bike enthusiast. I have found that there is a lot of goodwill to be found amongst the quad bikers – and they are generous in helping a hand in transporting bikes, rendering assistance with breakdowns, sharing advice on the best routes and destinations etc. It is

The number of no-fault insurance fraud cases have risen steadily in New York with 11,000 incidences reported already this year. Compared to last year this is a seven percent increase. The New York State Insurance Department is suggesting changes be made in required auto insurance coverage to hopefully eliminate the number of fraud cases. The changes will impact consumers in terms of the insurance requirements and the cost of auto insurance.

In general the proposed rules give insurance companies much more leeway when it comes to handling what it suspects are fraud cases. For example, one proposal is to make it easier for insurance companies to dispute health care charges that exceed appropriate free schedules. In another proposal the insurance company would be allowed to suspend medical payments related to the insurance claim if fraud on the part of the medical clinic is suspected.

The New York State Insurance Department has been working hard to find ways to reduce auto insurance fraud because consumers pay higher rates than would be required if fraud was lessened or eliminated. Currently New York Drivers are paying the second highest auto insurance rates in the United States. The cost of fraud cases is passed on to consumers through insurance premiums and is often called a fraud and waste tax.

No fault automobile insurance coverage allows a victim of a car accident to file claims with his or her own insurance company to collect medical payments and lost wages. It does not matter who caused the accident and thus the no-fault designation.

The holiday season is upon us, and many would be planning a quick trip back to their family. International students studying here would most definitely want to use the holidays to return back to their countries, or at the very least travel to somewhere within the USA. It has to be kept in mind that there are many international student health insurance policies that cover medical expenditures within a specific geographical boundary, and might not offer coverage everywhere.

Since the policy is specifically created for a student living close to the university and attending classes regularly, it is to be expected that he/she will not be traveling outside too many times. However, it creates a problem when the student actually wishes and plans to travel.

It is always safe to buy some additional coverage to take care of unexpected medical expenditures during a short trip outside. When traveling during the holidays, it is best not to worry about medical expenses. There are health insurance companies for the whole purpose of worrying about hospitals, and medicine, and ICUs.

Travel with a good travel health insurance policy. It is a good way of keeping worries at bay.

Virgin Galactic’s sub-orbital space plane, the SpaceShipTwo, is preparing for test flights which the company’s owner Richard Branson hopes it will be taking tourists into space by 2012.

For £120,000, wealthy space tourists will be able to enjoy a few minutes’ weightlessness while marveling at views of the Earth from space. So far 300 people have paid in full for their ticket, while a further 82,000 have registered their interest on Virgin Galactic’s website. The engineers behind the craft refer to the rich, middle-aged people as their target market.

A small, rocket-propelled, shuttle-like vehicle around the size of a light aircraft, SpaceShipTwo will be carried to 50,000 feet above sea level – 20,000 feet higher than most airliners – by its mothership, WhiteKnightTwo.

Once there, SpaceShipTwo’s own rocket engine will fire, launching the little ship to the boundary between the atmosphere and the vacuum of space at three times the speed of sound. After the engines are cut off, they will enter free-fall, experiencing total weightlessness for several minutes.

WhiteKnightTwo has been undergoing flight tests since December last year. The SpaceShipTwo is still under construction and is expected to make its first test flights in the early months of 2010.

A text message reading “Thatcher has died” has sparked a minor diplomatic incident in Canada.
The author of the message was the country’s transport minister John Baird, who was announcing the death of his pet cat.
However Canada’s prime minister Stephen Harper was mistakenly informed that the message referred to the the 84-year-old former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

According to BBC News, frantic calls were placed to 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, while rumours circulated among politicians attending a black tie gala event in Toronto.

A Canadian government aide even began preparing an official statement commemorating Mrs Thatcher’s passing.

Luckily the identity of the “real” Thatcher, a 16-year-old grey tabby, was quickly clarified.

Fortunately the old moggie has pet life insurance an element of Cat Insurance which will cover the costs of  the state funeral.

In Memorium we were going to publish a few pictures of Thatcher’s 11 year in office achievements…..so here’s some treasured memories anyway!
